Our story

Sprout started as a favour

Cassandra is a teacher. Dominic builds software. For years she spent her evenings and a good chunk of every weekend on lesson preparation: finding a decent worksheet, rewriting it for the kids in front of her, making a version for the ones who needed more support and another for the ones who were already ahead.

So he built her a tool. Not a product, just something that took a curriculum code and gave back a lesson she could actually teach the next morning. It saved her hours a week, which was the whole point.

Then Dominic’s sister Patrycja asked for it. Patrycja homeschools her own kids, and she was solving the same problem alone at her kitchen table with none of a school’s resources behind her. She became the second user, and she is the reason Sprout is built for homeschooling parents as carefully as it is for teachers. Two people, two very different settings, the same lost hours.

That is still how we decide what to build. If a change would not save Cassandra time on a Sunday night, or would not work for Patrycja at home on a Tuesday morning, it does not ship.
